Trelleborg continues without weakness in 2020

Due to the current circumstances and regulations we had to make some special arrangements for the second last online tournament of this season. The English casters commented from home and the production team present in the studio was reduced to a minimum.

Surprisingly strong wildcard teams

30 wildcard teams competed in the Open Qualifier, which played out over 3 rounds among each other to see who could compete in the Play-Ins against one of the seeded teams. Well-known teams like JZD and VK but also many newcomers like the Team of Elite Guys, of which we will hopefully see more in the future, have made it to the Play-Ins.

Exactly these three WildCard teams were able to win against the Seeded Teams in Best-Of-3s. Claas had to admit defeat 2 to 0 against Team of Elite Guys. Exactly the same happened to Team Power against Horsch, John Deere against VK, Komatsu Forest against JZD, Bummel Bären against Trelleborg, Landeiern against Krone and Grimme against Lindner. The only series that went over the full distance was the match of mYinsanity, who won 2 to 1 against the farming community.

In the quarter finals on Sunday, the teams of mYinsanity, Horsch, Lindner and Elite Guys were also eliminated. So the same 4 teams reached the semi-finals like at the IEM Katowice a month ago. There was the Czech duel between JZD and VK, in which JZD could prevail and met Trelleborg in the final. The leader of the standings had beaten Krone before and was therefore waiting in the final. In an exciting and competitive final the team of the tyre manufacturer won against a strong JZD with 2 to 1.

Favorites for the world championship show up

With three tournament victories and still no defeat this year, Trelleborg once again showed a sovereign performance and is certainly considered the biggest favourite for FarmCon 20, followed by a large group of established teams such as John Deere, Krone or the Landeiern. Since the last successes, the team JZD and VK must also be mentioned here. The latter have only been playing since the Dreamhack and have already been able to beat some established teams.
