Tournament #1 Recap

There were not too many rumors about roster changes during the off-season. The excitement was all the greater to see how the teams of the Farming Simulator League (FSL) would be composed in Season 4. Even the winner of the first official tournament, Team Trelleborg, came up with a new addition.

Saturday is play-in day

After a preliminary round, the play-in matches started right after. Besides some newly formed teams, the already existing ones now revealed their current roster. What could already be seen in some matches on the first day is an increased number of bales per match. This means in reverse that every team has to fine tune their ball handling. If this works well, we will see more matches like the one between Corteva Agriscience (COR) and Bednar (BED) in Season 4, where over 40 bales are delivered by both teams and over 1,000 points end up on the scoreboard.

Sunday - first final day of the season

Quarterfinals

The bracket for the first final of season 4 promised some exciting matches. It started with the two French teams from Power Team Esport (PWE) and Fermiers Flamboyants (FFF). In two rounds, the newcomers from FFF prevailed and thus came one step closer to the final.
The follow-up match pitted Team Lindner (LIN) against Bednar (BED). In Season 3 both teams were seeded, which was well recognizable by the routine proceedings. After two very close rounds, the Czech team finally prevailed.
In the lower bracket, the Swedes from Team Trelleborg (TB) opened against mYinsanity (mYi). After three matches and the first 1,000 round of the final day, TB prevailed.
Those who remember the third season will not be unfamiliar with the running gag around Team Valtra (VAL): Free ticket for Valtra! So the season starts well for the Finnish team!

Semifinals

The first match of the semi-final was exciting. Here the underdogs from FFF met the experienced team from BED. In the end, BED proved better ball handling and took the blue side of the final match.
The lineup of the red team was played out between the two northern lights. Unfortunately, the newly formed team of VAL did not have much to counter the reigning world champion TB, so that the decision was already made after two rounds. TB set a new record in Firstbale (147 points, player: JayKay) and entered the final.

Final

Here was the revenge to the final match of the tenth match of the third season: BED vs. TB! Expectations were high for both teams, after all, Bednar set the bar accordingly high with three over 1,000 point rounds on play-in day. Of course, the same was true for the World Champions, who secured one of the best players from last year's Team, VAL at the start of the season. On both sides, one saw some avoidable mistakes, like accidents in the ditch or obstructing each other with vehicles. TB convinced not only with skill (two 1,000 rounds, over 45 delivered bales each), but also with some showmanship, which in this case were just saved accidents.

Conclusion

Season 4 starts more internationally and with a big bang: although few changes have been made to the previous tournament client, the gameplay has evolved. At the start of the season, the game meta has not yet been determined, so you will not only get faster tactics, but also a lot of variety.
